When Robert's and Michelle's lips do meet, it is like nothing that either one of them have ever experienced. In a moment of true enchantment, Michelle's sweet mouth opens to let Robert’s tongue slip in. Their kisses become more and more passionate and Michelle unbuttons Robert's shirt and his strong arms lowers her to the carpet and Robert feels his blood pressure rising and how his heartbeat accelerates, while he reaches for her brassiere’s clasp between her soft breasts.
At that very moment Michelle's eyes catches the time, on Robert’s wristwatch and she is jerked back to reality. Her hands reach to his and remove them from her body. "I want you Michelle," he says and her tongue slip provocatively over her lips before saying: "and I want you, but have you seen the time." "When?" He wants to know. "Maybe...tonight," she says and he sees promise in her eyes while they are making themselves decent.
When David Bailey enters his office there's a bond between them and he apologizes for keeping them waiting. I've got him just where I want him, Michelle thinks. I have played the innocent girl and the alluring seductress masterly, but she has to admit to herself that she is more than just attracted to Robert and the way that he looks at her does things to her, that she has not experienced for a long time.
Could this be love at first sight, she wonders. Oh, God I cannot afford it now of all times. Not with both the agency and Mark Morgan on my number. She realizes that if she didn't notice the time on Robert's watch, they would have been in a predicament now. Morgan will kill Eric if she doesn't follow his instructions to the letter. If she gets National Security and the Police involved, she will never see Eric alive again. Michelle is divided between Robert and Eric and she decides that her child takes preference.
Michelle smiles at Robert and he smiles back at her and Robert has to admit to himself , that Michelle has become very important to him, in a very short space of time. When David Bailey once again gives his condolences to Robert, Michelle stares at Robert with shock and dissolution when she realizes that his fiancé has been dead for only a few days. How can Robert forget Tracey so quickly, she wonders?
Robert takes her hand pressing it reassuringly and when Bailey reads the will. All of Robert's father's possessions are divided evenly between the two of them, but as for his mother's estate Robert is the sole beneficiary.
"James Desmond loved somebody else before he met your mother, Robert" says the lawyer. "Do you want to tell me that she is my half sister?" Robert asks with a very serious expression on his face.
"No. On the contrary. When your father met her mother, she was already pregnant with Michelle." "Why did she do such a thing to me?" Michelle asks acting out the role that she had chosen to play. "These things do happen. Michelle's father who was engaged to her mother, died tragically in a motor car accident."
"I do not think that you should go any further with the story, uncle David. You are hurting Michelle." Cupid's arrow has really hit Robert, David Bailey notices. "Robert perhaps it will be better for her to know, that your father tried every thing in his power to adopt her when her mother died at her birth. The adoption agency did not want to give a baby girl to a young bachelor and when James found another love Michelle had already been adopted."
When they finally leave the lawyer's offices Robert invites Michelle to have lunch with him, but to his disappointment she declines his offer explaining that she has some urgent matter to attend to. To Robert's surprise and delight, Michelle invites him to have supper at her apartment and he accepts the invitation and then she surprises him again by kissing him goodbye, before rushing of he feels as if his is walking on thin air.
